Debt Settlement Options
If you have received a Lawsuit and summons from a creditor or the creditor is threatening to file a lawsuit, you can contact us so we can explain to you and advise you as to what options you have available to settle the debt.
With our 30+ years of debt resolution experience we can manage the negotiation so you don’t have to answer the lawsuit in 30 days and spend unnecessary attorney or court fees just to buy time. Unfortunately we have seen through the years that some attorneys would recommend litigating the lawsuit instead of settling it. We do not believe that is a practical way of handling the situation, unless they are suing the wrong person.
You may be able to set up a long term plan payment, with not interest or fees to pay the debt in order to avoid a Judgment. You may also be able to settle the debt for cents on the dollar in order to stop the lawsuit from moving forward into a possible default judgment. If you do have a default judgment the creditor would have the right to garnish your wages, levy your bank accounts or put a lien against real property. Your certainly need to avoid that from happening.
Once we speak to you and ask you the right questions about your financial situation we can ascertain and make sure we are on the same page to advise you of your options.
Our consultation is usually sufficient enough to get you started in the right direction. Contact Financial Counseling Center or request an appointment online to get started.
